Nowadays, people are very much concerned about the food quality we are having and number of people are searching for organic foods such as rice, pulses, vegetables, cereals, spices, etc. It’s also very much important to boost our immunity. The sad part is that very few farmers are interested in organic farming as according to them the yield is lesser than inorganic. Here we have to educate the farmers about the benefit of organic farming. We have to make them understand that organic farming is the only option to maintain the texture of the soil. We are also focussing on the ayurvedic plantation to grow the income of the farmers but it’s not possible until the farmers are farming organically. Even we can export organic food products to different countries through APEDA also to increase the income of the farmers. We are already serving 60-70 bighas of land through irrigation.
In this project, we are applying for a loan from NABARD and thus covering the maximum possible land under irrigation. The farmers are cultivating twice a year with the help of irrigation but our target is to make it thrice in a year to increase the profit and thus improve the socio-economic condition of the farmers. We have to ensure that the farmers get the organic fertilizer and organic pesticide at a fair price also. We are also helping in the preparation of cultivable land at less than the market price by our hand tractor. Also planned for fast machine-assisted harvesting of the crops at the time of disaster like cyclone, the flood which is a bit common in these areas. We have also planned crop storage to ensure the proper value of the crops so that the farmers are not forced to sell at a lower price.
